Re "Fight looms over fenced-off levees" (Page A1, Nov. 1): Let me get this straight. Sacramento's Parks and Recreation Commission has $100,000 available to spend right now on researching ownership along the Sacramento River while we cannot keep our public swimming pools open, or other park facilities in decent shape?
Wouldn't this money better spent on the many needs of our parks today (fixing park equipment, working restrooms, hiring more park personnel,insuring that public pools will be open next summer)?
With all the budget cuts and lack of funding that is clearly evident in the sub-standard condition of park facilities, I must ask how much more money does the city have for these more essential needs, and why haven't we put those funds to use?

• Do not use the commenting system for advertising. That's spam and it isn't allowed.
• Don't use all capital letters. That's akin to yelling and not appreciated by the audience.
• Don't flag other users' comments just because you don't agree with their point of view. Please only flag comments that violate these guidelines.

Remember, comment moderation is subjective. You may find some material objectionable that we won't and vice versa.
