What: Anthem Blue Cross will offer free whooping cough vaccines to low- income children from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the Boys and Girls Club on Lemon Hill Avenue. State law requires that students entering seventh through 12th grades must have a whooping cough (pertussis) vaccine booster. The shot clinic will be part of the 12th annual Healthy Kids Day event, which also features health screenings and information as well as speakers.

What: Insects are all over there are more than 900,000 species in the world. Check out the invertebrates on posters, displays and as preserved specimens at the Discovery Museum Science and Space Center. There will be live insect presentations at noon and 2 p.m. each day.
