Sharpen your skates; it's time for holiday ice rinks

The downtown Sacramento ice rink opened Friday, and the Old Town Folsom rink will debut Monday.

The open-air rink at St. Rose of Lima Park, Seventh and K streets, began its 21st season Friday.

The downtown rink's regular hours are 2 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Jan. 21.

Admission is $8 and skate rental is $2. To plan a party at the rink, call (916) 442-8575.

The ice skating rink in historic Folsom opens Monday. The rink is scheduled to welcome skaters through Jan. 21.

The hours for the Folsom rink are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fees for a skating session are $10, $8 for children 8 and younger.

Skate rentals are also available. The rink is next to the parking garage at 905 Leidesdorff St. and across from a light-rail station.
