For the first time in three years, the California Highway Patrol will accept new officer applications.
The CHP announced Thursday that the department will accept online applications Jan. 3 through Jan. 5 from people interested in a career as a officer.
"Officers are needed throughout California," said CHP Commissioner Joe Farrow.
Applicants must be 20 to 35 years old, a U.S. citizen, have no felony convictions and be a high school graduate. Applicants must complete a selection process that includes a written test, physical ability test, panel interview, background investigation, medical evaluation and psychological evaluation.
