Re "Calendar lull lets lawmakers, lobbiysts travel for talks" (Page A1, Nov. 15): It's nice that our lawmakers can take trips with people who want to educate them on their interests. But it would even be nicer if they would take trips to their districts and see first-hand the problems people have to face every day.
Take a first-hand look at how the agencies have to operate and the problems they face with the public. Take a look at the frustrations the public has to go through with paperwork and bureaucracy. Find out the waste that is going on that they never address.
But why should they go to their districts to find out how people have to live with the laws they make when the most of the money they get to be elected comes from outside of their districts from these same people who take them on the trips.

• Do not use the commenting system for advertising. That's spam and it isn't allowed.
• Don't use all capital letters. That's akin to yelling and not appreciated by the audience.
• Don't flag other users' comments just because you don't agree with their point of view. Please only flag comments that violate these guidelines.

You are more likely to see inappropriate comments before our staff does, so we ask that you click the "Report Abuse" link to submit those comments for moderator review.
