A Sacramento tradition will have a new route this year.
The 30th Santa Parade will begin at 10 a.m. Dec. 1 from 14th and N streets alongside Capitol Park. It will travel west on N to 9th Street, north on Ninth Street to L Street and then west on L Street to 4th Street.
The parade will feature marching bands, clowns, youth groups, horses, antique vehicles and Santa Claus. An estimated 20,000 people are expected to show up.
The change was made to avoid congestion around the convention center, an organizer said.
Sponsors include 107.9 The End, STAR 106.5, the Eagle, Sactown Magazine, Downtown Plaza and Macy's.
