Drivers can now find out which South Lake Tahoe streets are clear of snow within hours of them being plowed – thanks to a new feature on the city's website.
Just look at the snow removal website and you can see a road map of city streets, color coded by when they were last plowed. The map is updated with Global Positioning System equipment attached to the city's snowplows.
The map is updated every eight, 16 and 24 hours, according a news release from the city.
The city reminds residents that they should not park in city rights of way in snowy conditions and should keep trash bins as far from the road as possible.
