Mayor Kevin Johnson has named a new chief of staff.
Daniel Conway will take over the post on Monday. He was most recently the legislative and public affairs director for the California Restaurant Association.
The mayor's office also announced Wednesday that Helen Hewitt would be joining the staff as director of constituent affairs. Hewitt has held various posts at City Hall, including district director for former Councilwoman Lauren Hammond.
"Daniel and Helen are great additions to my team," the mayor said in a statement. "Their energy, experience and deep commitment to Sacramento will be tremendous assets to my administration and our city."
Conway is replacing former Chief of Staff Kunal Merchant, who left the post in June and was named the executive director of the mayor's Think BIG arena task force.
Also leaving the mayor's office is Joaquin McPeek, the mayor's spokesman. McPeek's last day is today. He has accepted a job as the California media director for the Environmental Defense Fund.
