Healthy eating

What: The Sacramento Children's Museum presents a "Happy Heart, Healthy Eating Day." The program incorporates healthy eating habits with fun activities for kids. Admission is free as a result of a grant from the Newman's Own Foundation. Along with exercise activities, chefs from Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School will lead a cooking demonstration to help children identify healthy foods.

What: SactoMoFo, Sacramento's mobile food truck association, is teaming up with area restaurants to raise money for the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program and the California Fire Foundation. There will be a "Truck and Mortar Throwdown" – in which five teams of chefs will create dishes based on pork and honey.

Where: Eighth and X streets, Sacramento.

When: Noon to 3 p.m.

Rolling on the river

What: The Capital City Yacht Club will host its annual Lighted Boat Parade. Vessels will sail up the Sacramento River from the Sacramento marina, under the Tower Bridge to the Virgin Sturgeon restaurant, then back to the marina.

Where: Spectators can view the event from the Old Sacramento docks.

When: Parade begins at 6:30 p.m.

Cost: Free.

What: Twelve performers will be selected to compete during the final performance of the Davis Got Talent event at the Veterans Memorial Theatre in Davis.

Chorus in holiday show

What: The Sacramento Gay Men's Chorus launches its 28th season with a holiday-themed show – "Light Your World" – at the First United Methodist Church in Sacramento. The concert will be conducted by the group's new artistic director, Steven Johnson, director of music and worship at St. John's Lutheran Church in downtown Sacramento.

Where: 2100 J St., Sacramento.

When: 8 p.m. today, 4 p.m. Sunday.

Cost: Admission $22 in advance, $25 at the door.
