A man was shot to death at his west Modesto home early Friday evening, and his wife was being questioned by police.
About 6 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 400 block of Boone Way, said police Sgt. Steve Stanfield.
When they arrived, they found the shooting victim, his wife and five children, who one neighbor said range in age from about 7 to 13 years old.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Information on his identity was unavailable.
One of the children, a girl believed to be 10 or 11 years old, was taken to a hospital over a medical issue, but it was not an injury, Stanfield said.
