The Rancho Cordova City Council voted unanimously Monday night to designate 2012 Vice Mayor Linda Budge as the city's mayor for 2013.
Councilman Dan Skoglund will become vice mayor, the City Council decided.
Budge has served on the council since the city incorporated in 2003. Skoglund was appointed to the council in 2004 and elected to four-year terms in 2006 and 2010. The two will be sworn in on Dec. 17.
The city also administered the oath of office to the three winning candidates in the Nov. 6 general election.
David Sander, mayor for 2012, and Councilman Robert McGarvey, were returned to office to serve new four-year terms. Candidate Donald Terry, a newcomer to the council, also was sworn into office.
