Sacramento and California saw significant year-over-year gains in job vacancies advertised online in November, according to the latest statistics released by the Conference Board.

The board said there were 27,200 ads posted in Sacramento in November, unchanged from October, but up 25.3 percent from 21,700 in November last year.

Sacramento remains second nationwide in the number of unemployed per advertised job vacancy, with a 3.84-to-1 ratio. That trails only Riverside's 6.65-to-1. The national rate is 2.59-to-1.

Statewide, there were 531,400 ads in November, up slightly from 530,600 in October but a substantial improvement over the 2011 number.

Jobs advertised online nationwide fell a modest 15,700 from October to November, to 4.7 million.

Conference Board officials said nationwide labor demand was dragged down by Hurricane Sandy.
