Service set for Creighton Sanders

A memorial for longtime Sacramento sportscaster Creighton Sanders is set for 3 p.m. Monday at Holy Spirit Church, 3159 Land Park Drive, Sacramento.

A reception will follow at 4 p.m. at the Riverside Clubhouse, 2633 Riverside Blvd., Sacramento.

Mr. Sanders, who died Nov. 25 at age 85, was a fixture on local television for more than 30 years. He started in 1960 as the first full-time sports reporter at KXTV (Channel 10). He joined KCRA (Channel 3) in 1980 as sports director and later was a full-time sportscaster until he retired in 1992.

Survivors include his children, Linda, Lana, Ron, Susan and Julie; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
