People gather during a Pearl Harbor remembrance ceremony at Discovery Park in Sacramento on Friday, December 7, 2012. The officers and members of the USS Holland SS-1 Gold Country Base, United States Submarine Veterans, for the 26TH consecutive year conducted a Pearl Harbor Remembrance and Wreath Laying Ceremony today. The event was assisted by both the Sacramento and Yolo Counties Marine division patrol boats for the wreath laying and honor guards from both Civil Air Patrol Squadron 14 (CA-151), and the Naval ROTC Unit from Soledad High School in Monterey County and attended by Veterans from all branches of our military. According to Pete Juhos of the USS Holland (SS-1) / Gold Country Base, "It is our goal to keep the memory of December 7, 1941 alive and to always remember the heroism, the dedication, and painful sacrifice of our service men and women on that fateful day."
