Students from throughout the state can enter an essay contest sponsored by the LegiSchool Project at California State University, Sacramento.

The topic is the Dream Act, and the prize is a trip to Sacramento.

Each essay should take a position on public policies such as the Dream Act, and discuss how the proposals affect California and what steps state lawmakers can take to address the issue of undocumented minors in the state.

The contest is open to California high school juniors and seniors. Ten winners will receive round-trip travel to Sacramento for the 17th annual Student Legislative Summit on April 10.

Online entry forms and electronic submissions can be found at www.csus.edu/calst/contests.html.
