Top trio in this week’s caption contest

Responses to this week's cartoon caption contest set a new standard, adding to the challenge of selecting finalists. Below are three we deemed worthy of making the cut.

Even if your submission didn't make it to the finals, you have a chance to determine the winner. Vote for your favorite cartoon caption by noon Friday (voting now closed).

The winner, which will be based on survey results and judging by The Bee's editorial board and cartoonist Steve Greenberg, will be revealed Sunday in California Forum. The winner will receive a signed color print of Greenberg's cartoon with the winning caption.
