Pacific Gas and Electric Co. says it is making property tax payments totaling $157.2 million to the 49 counties in which it operates.
This week's payment is the first of two annual installments and represents property taxes due for the period from July 1 to Dec. 31 this year.
Payments to counties include $3.1 million to Sacramento, $3.4 million to Placer, $1.6 million to Yolo and $1.1 million to El Dorado.
San Francisco-based PG&E said its tax payments to counties for the 2012-13 tax year increased by more than $18 million over the previous year as a result of an increase in assessments due to PG&E infrastructure investments.
