Mandarin mania

What: Little citrus treats will be showcased during the Placer County Mountain Mandarin Growers Association's Orchard Days. There will be mandarin activities throughout the hills at various orchards. Also featured will be crafters, artists, farm animals and tasting of mandarin-based products.

Where: Penryn, Newcastle, Lincoln, Loomis and Auburn.

When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days

Drawing for toys

What: The Sacramento Comicbook Creators Group and other artists will present a live drawing session and auction to help collect toys and raise money for the Marines Toys for Tots Drive. People can bid on original artwork created by artists.

Where: Empire Comics Vault, 2357 Arden Way, Sacramento.

When: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Live from the Capitol

What: Live music will be presented at the State Capitol Rotunda. Today's performers will be the Camellia City Flute Choir and River Bells (professional bell ringers). Sunday's performers will be the Sacramento Youth Symphony Symphonic Band and Renaissance Choir of Sacramento.

Where: State Capitol, 10th and L streets, Sacramento.

When: Today: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., flute choir; 1 to 2 p.m., River Bells; Sunday: Noon to 1 p.m., symphonic band; 1 to 2 p.m., choir

For the children What: The Sacramento Master Singers will present its children's holiday concert, "Jingle All the Way," at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Sacramento. The concert will be 45 minutes long and tailored for young listeners.

'Of Joy and Fate' What: The Folsom Symphony's annual holiday concert, "Of Joy and Fate," will feature celebratory music. Pieces will include Beethoven's "Fidelio Overture," Rimsky-Korsakov's "Capriccio Espagnol" and Brahms' "Shicksaslied" with the Folsom High School chamber choir, and Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus."

Where: Three Stages Performing Arts Center, 10 College Parkway, Folsom.

When: Today, 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, 2 p.m.
