MATCHUP TO WATCH

Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles vs. Raiders middle linebacker Omar Gaither

In the Raiders' Week 8 win over Kansas City, Charles had fewer rushing yards (four) than he averages per carry this season (5.1). Of course, the Chiefs helped by handing off to Charles only five times. He is the AFC's leading rusher and has averaged 117.2 yards over his past five games, so the Raiders and their 26th-ranked rush defense can expect a larger dose of him this time. Gaither comes off the field when the Raiders go with their nickel defense, but when he's in, he'll keep an eye on Charles.

THREE KEYS TO GAME

• The Chiefs are last in the AFC in turnovers (33) and turnover margin (-22). The Raiders (-7) must be more opportunistic. Cornerback Phillip Adams has helped with interceptions in consecutive games.

• As long as the Raiders get somewhat into Chiefs' territory, it's a good bet they'll score. Sebastian Janikowski is 24 of 26 on field-goal attempts, with his misses from 61 and 64 yards.

• It might be time for Oakland to turn Terrelle Pryor loose. The Raiders have had a play package ready for their third-string quarterback the past two weeks, but he has yet to run a play in the NFL during the regular season.
