Did Tyreke Evans return from his knee injury too soon? There's no way of knowing for certain.

But Evans is still out. And the Kings have to make do without their second-leading scorer.

Evans missed his second consecutive game with a sore left knee Wednesday in the Kings' victory over the Warriors at Sleep Train Arena

Evans has missed seven games because of his knee. He left Sunday's loss against Denver after 10 minutes because his knee began bothering him.

"I don't know," Kings coach Keith Smart said when asked if Evans had come back too soon. "Everything from my assumption was he was OK. But obviously he wasn't OK with the way you saw him the last game (Sunday)."

Evans originally hurt his knee Nov. 27 against Minnesota when he bumped knees with Timberwolves forward Andrei Kirilenko.

The Kings' next game is Friday in Los Angeles against the Clippers. There is no timetable for Evans to return.

"It felt much better today," Smart said. "From there it's going to be how he feels and if the doctors say it is OK."

Evans' 15.1 points per game is second on the Kings. He also leads the team with 3.2 assists per game.

Readjusting – Tyler Honeycutt was active in his first game back with the Kings after spending more than a month with the Reno Bighorns of the NBA Development League.

Honeycutt was assigned to the Bighorns on Nov. 8.

Smart said he received positive reviews from Honeycutt's time with the Bighorns.

"I think the young man has grown," Smart said. "Had some really good games and showed he can play all over the floor."

The second-year forward figures to have a hard time getting playing time.

John Salmons and James Johnson have played the bulk of the minutes at small forward lately.

"We'll see where he's at when we get a chance to have some five-on-five practices," Smart said.

Celebrity sighting – He has rapped about sitting courtside at Miami Heat games. But on Wednesday hip-hop star Rick Ross sat in on a Kings game.

A Grammy-nominated rapper from the Miami area, Ross was presented with a black Kings jersey with No. 28 and "Ross" on the back.

"I've really been a fan of the Kings since the (Mike) Bibby days," Ross said. "… I wanted to see DeMarcus Cousins play live and in the flesh."

Ross watched the game in seats usually occupied by Kings co-owners Joe and Gavin Maloof.
