'The Nutcracker'
What: It's your last chance to catch the Sacramento Ballet's production of the classic holiday show, choregraphed by co-artistic director Ron Cunningham. Follow Clara and her Nutcracker Prince as they journey through the snowflake forest to the Kingdom of Sweets.

Ice skating
What: If you don't mind a little slipping and sliding, head to the Downtown Sacramento ice rink. This outdoor skating rink, open through Jan. 21, has been around since 1991 as a holiday attraction. Skating starts when the rink opens, and then sessions continue every two hours. Each session is 1 hour and 45 minutes, followed by a quick Zamboni sweep in between. You can rent your skates or bring your own. You can even rent socks and gloves.

When: 10 a.m.-10 p.m. today and Saturday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday, daily through Jan. 21.

'White Christmas'
What: Sure, you can see this Bing Crosby-Danny Kaye musical on an endless loop on television this holiday season, but it doesn't compare with seeing it in a movie house on the big screen. Get into the holiday spirit listening to the songs of Irving Berlin, including "White Christmas." The film was directed by Michael Curtiz and co-stars Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen.

Bear-a-palooza
What: From teddy bears to polar bears, the Discovery Museum focuses on the bear essentials. The bear corner displays skulls, skins, claws and teeth. Kids from 4 to 12 years old can make bear crafts. A "Three Bears" play will be performed at noon and 2 p.m. this weekend only.

What: The original members of X – John Doe, Exene Cervenka, Billy Zoom, DJ Bonebrake – reunite for their fourth X-mas tour. The punkers exploded on the L.A. punk scene more than three decades ago. Bonebrake on the band's website said X sounds better and tighter than it did 30 years ago. Opening for X is My Jerusalem.
