Re "What happened to protecting the middle class?" (Editorials, Dec. 20): If we really cared about our budget, we would not have re-elected President Barack Obama. His budgets have never been supported by either party and have always run deficits. Why address our growing $16.3 trillion debt or try to balance our budget now? What we really want is more money for the 99 percent and to take it from the 1 percent.
We elected Obama to continue the growth and spending on entitlements (Social Security, Medicare, Obamacare, food stamps, unemployment insurance, etc.) We also need to step up our trend of government takeovers without bipartisan support, like we did with Obamacare, the stimulus, student loans, green industries and the auto industry.
