Get on your feet for Elvin Bishop

What: To dance out the last Saturday night of 2012, legendary blues rock guitarist Elvin Bishop will return to Grass Valley for a special pre-New Year's Eve Dance Party presented by the Center for the Arts. Intimate concert venues are special to Bishop. "I like ones where you can really see the people, and get with them, and do the whole thing together," Bishop told Guitar World in 2011.

Bishop released several albums in the early 1970s, including his biggest pop success, the gold-record- earning hit "Fooled Around and Fell in Love" with Mickey Thomas – later of Starship – from the 1976 album, "Struttin' My Stuff." There will be limited theater seating to make plenty of room to dance!

When: 8 p.m. Saturday

Where: The Center for the Arts, 314 W Main St., Grass Valley

Tickets: $25 members, $28 nonmembers at the center box office, (530) 274-8384, ext. 14; BriarPatch Co-op Community Market, (530) 272-5333; and online at
