Accomplishment: Won the "No Excuses – Go to School" poster contest
Details: Students were asked to illustrate short poems such as "Stubbed your toe? You've still got to go" and "Feeling tired? School's required." The poster contest is held to promote consistent school attendance.
Kudos to: Ed Cox, Sacramento City Public Works bicycle and pedestrian coordinator
Accomplishment: Named employee of the year by the Sacramento Area Council of Governments
Details: Cox, on the job 12 years, has led the move to add bike lanes and the stationing of bike racks downtown.

• Don't use all capital letters. That's akin to yelling and not appreciated by the audience.
