Cole Odenweller is thrilled to again be riding a bike, a special three-wheel model for the 15-year-old, who has an undiagnosed neuro-degenerative disorder.
With her new computer, a grateful Catherine Odurokwarten, a single mother, can keep up with schoolwork and research while pursing her goal of a career in pharmacy.
Joy also abounded at the Clean & Sober holiday party, where a festive crowd of 200 gathered for an evening of good food and heartfelt reflection.
All these wishes were fulfilled by Book of Dreams readers. From Nov. 21 to Saturday, The Bee has shared with you 16 stories of good people in need, and we asked for your help. Despite uncertain economic times, you have shown generosity again during the holiday season. To date, the Book of Dreams has raised $131,975 in donations. Readers can also donate online at www.sacbee.com/bookofdreams.
Contributions will be accepted until Jan. 11. All money raised will be used to fund the 16 dreams. Any remaining funds will go to nonprofit organizations that work with children and families. None of the money will be spent on administrative costs.

What You Should Know About Comments on Sacbee.com
