The 49ers said, 'hello again,' to an old acquaintance, signing former draft pick Curtis Taylor to the practice squad. The big-bodied safety (6-2,212-pounds) was a seventh-round draft pick by the 49ers in 2009. Taylor was released after training camp last year when the 49ers had a glut of safeties. He signed with the Raiders in January and was released before the regular season this year.
The team also addressed its dwindling numbers along the defensive line by signing defensive tackle Lamar Divens to the practice squad. Divens (6-3, 340) originally signed with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2008. He also has spent time with the Ravens', Buccaneers', Titans's and Texans' organizations.
The 49ers had two open spots on their practice squad after elevating linebacker Cam Johnson to the 53-man squad last week and releasing Alex Hoffman-Elllis.
