Visibility under a quarter of a mile has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a dense fog advisory for much of the Central Valley, including Sacramento.
Driving over the Yolo Causeway was foggy and downtown was gray this morning. The fog was thick at Sacramento airports, including Sacramento International where visibility was down to about a tenth of a mile at 8 a.m.
Arrivals from cities such as Los Angeles and Seattle were delayed at Sacramento International. Departures to Hawaii, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington D.C.'s Dulles Airport were delayed.
However, a spokeswoman for the airport said the delays did not appear to be caused by the foggy conditions.
NWS forecasters said that the fog should burn off by late morning.
