SUNDAY
EAGLES AT GIANTS
Time: 10 a.m.
TV: FOX40
Line: Giants by 7 1/2
Records: Giants 8-7; Eagles 4-11
The skinny: For Andy Reid, it's probably his last chance in Philly. The Giants try to finish what has turned into a frustrating season on a good note when they face Philadelphia in what likely will be Reid's final game as Eagles head coach. Having blown a 6-2 start and two-game, late-November lead in the NFC East, the defending Super Bowl champion Giants need to beat the Eagles, have Minnesota and Chicago lose and have the Redskins either beat or tie Dallas just to get a wild-card berth. It's not likely, especially after being torched the past two weeks by Atlanta and Baltimore by a combined 67-14. Philadelphia has won seven of the last eight against the Giants, including a 19-17 win in late September, just before the Eagles fell apart.
CARDINALS AT 49ERS
Time: 1:25 p.m.
TV/radio: FOX40; 680, 1320
Line: 49ers by 16 1/2
Records: 49ers 10-4-1; Cardinals 5-10
The skinny: San Francisco can clinch its second straight division title and keep its shot at a first-round bye alive in Sunday's regular-season finale against Arizona at Candlestick Park. The once-promising Cardinals are 60 minutes away from beginning another offseason of upheaval. "Sometimes in a game like this, anything goes," said 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh. "Their mind-set will be to win the game. So you have to be ready. You have to be alert for just about anything." At the very least, last week should've reminded the 49ers of that much. San Francisco's 42-13 shellacking in Seattle handed Harbaugh the worst loss of his NFL coaching career. It showed how flimsy the 49ers and their second-ranked defense can be without Justin Smith, the versatile lineman whose streak of 185 games ended with what has been revealed by The Bee as a partially torn triceps tendon rather than a simple elbow injury, as has been reported by the team. The 49ers can still secure the No. 2 playoff seed and the first-round bye that comes with it with a win coupled with a Green Bay loss at Minnesota. If they lose and Seattle (10-5) wins at home against St. Louis, the Seahawks will steal the NFC West crown and send San Francisco on the road for the first round.
RAIDERS AT CHARGERS
Time: 1:25 p.m.
TV/radio: Ch. 13, 1140
Line: None
Records: Raiders 4-11; Chargers 6-9
The skinny: The Raiders conclude another season out of the playoffs. Oakland hasn't had a winning season since the 2002 season, when it went on to lose the Super Bowl to Jon Gruden's Tampa Bay Bucs. First-year Raiders coach Dennis Allen said it's possible both Matt Leinart and Terrelle Pryor could play after starting quarterback Carson Palmer went out with cracked ribs and bruised lung after being hit from behind by Carolina Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy. Palmer had started 24 consecutive games for Oakland after being acquired in a midseason trade with Cincinnati in 2011. Leinart has started just two games since 2007, while Pryor has never started in his two NFL seasons. As for the Chargers, this game could mark the end of the Norv Turner era in San Diego.
COWBOYS AT REDSKINS
Time: 5:20 p.m.
TV/radio: ESPN, 1320
Line: Redskins by 3
Records: Cowboys 8-7; Redskins 9-6
The skinny: It doesn't get simpler than this: The winner of the prime-time affair takes the NFC East. Dallas has been in this position twice before against the other division opponents, losing to the Eagles in 2008 and to the Giants a year ago in the finale with the East crown on the line. The Cowboys have displayed moxie in winning five of seven but also lost to the Redskins on Thanksgiving Day. "You live for games like this," Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said. "Only if you win them."
