What: Is your media library out of date? Tired of watching the movies you've had on the shelf for years? Then head on over to the Sacramento Central Library's book, CD and DVD swap meet to trade your stuff. Spokesman Don Burns said the swap meet is the brainchild of a library staffer who thought it would be a good way for film, book and music lovers to reinvigorate their collections and to mingle with people with the same interests. The library will give attendees "Central Bucks" for their items, which can be used to trade with others.

What: Families can learn about New Year's festivities from around the world through live music and dance performances at the Crocker Art Museum Gallery. Participate in a danceathon hosted by the Sacramento Ballet and enjoy hands-on creative activities and a rendition of "Auld Lang Syne" by the handbell choir Bel Tempo Ringers.
