Re "Senate approves eavesdrop measure" (Page A6, Dec. 29): As a country we are slow to get some things accomplished. We think that if we track cell phone usage, email and travel in order to find and halt terrorists, then we are doing the right thing. We are willing to put up with some of these civil liberty infringements in order to be safe, but we have left one form of liberty restriction out of our domestic terrorism vision.
We have left out gun ownership. We are not fully tracking gun ownership. As a result, we have individuals who arrive at a location, murder everyone and then take their own life. If that is not terrorism, then I don't know what is.
