Re "Senators fail to reach deal -- 'fiscal cliff' just a day away" (Page A1, Dec. 31): Falling off the fiscal cliff is a win-win for everyone. The Democrats will get their tax increase on everyone since taxing only the rich will not pay for everything. It's what they have wanted all along anyway. The Republicans will get their spending cuts. With the money that is saved plus the tax increase, Democrats will be able to create new ill-conceived and mismanaged social programs. The working taxpayers will be happy about the unemployment benefits ending because people that won't look for work will have to go find a job. The career public assistance receivers will get new social programs. There will be more money going to Social Security so it can be put into the general fund to pay for Obamacare.

• Don't repeat the same comment over and over. We heard you the first time.
• Do not use the commenting system for advertising. That's spam and it isn't allowed.
• Don't use all capital letters. That's akin to yelling and not appreciated by the audience.
• Don't flag other users' comments just because you don't agree with their point of view. Please only flag comments that violate these guidelines.
