Re "Health care law restricts gun data" (Page A1, Dec. 31): The National Rifle Association's paid-for congressmen pushed language it wanted in the Obamacare bill so doctors are limited in reporting the wounding and killings by guns. The NRA is gradually spreading its influence into our daily lives, like the tentacles of cancer spreading in one's body.
Are the killing of innocent children and adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School the price society has to pay for the unfettered right of citizens to bear arms such as military-style assault weapons? Florida passed a law sponsored by NRA, restricting health care workers from inquiring about guns in a household. It would like to make any such questions about gun ownership illegal, punishable with jail time. So much for detailed background checks.
