The Sacramento Breakfast Optimists Club and Kohl's will be collecting electronic waste and clothes and offering shredding Saturday in the store's parking lot at 1896 Arden Way.
E-waste and clothing will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and documents will be shredded from 9 a.m. to noon.
Computers, monitors, VCRs, stereos, keyboards, digital cameras, zip drives, telephones, printers, copiers, fax machines, scanners and televisions are among the items that will be accepted.
Hard drives will be shredded for optimal security, according to a news release from the Optimists.
Used clothing will be shipped to developing countries for reuse or recycling.
There is no fee to participate, but a $5 donation per box of documents shredded will be accepted.
Funds will be used to help pay for youth projects in the community.
