Re "Do we really want to arm teachers to kill?" (Viewpoints, Jan. 4): It's outrageous that any thinking person, much less a teacher, would ask such a question. But let my response be an absolute and unequivocal yes. A reasonable question would be, Should a teacher be expected to be trained and to carry a firearm?
But back to the writer's question, let me take my response a step further. What if the crazed and armed 13-year-old that the writer hypothetically portrays in a similar, violent scenario is my own child? To save the lives of all the innocents involved, my answer is the same absolute and unequivocal yes.
