A Tennessee firm says it has acquired Sacramento-based Data Systems Group, a company specializing in health care information systems.
Financial terms of the purchase by Passport Health Communications Inc. of Franklin, Tenn., were not disclosed. Passport said it will maintain operations at DSG's office at 2331 Alhambra Blvd. The local company has about 40 employees.
Passport provides technology and services that help hospitals and health care organizations streamline business operations and receive payment for their services.
DSG works with more than 200 hospital customers and 85 physician sites in 20 states, with a concentration in the western United States.
"Passport is an industry leader with a national reach. We are proud of what we have accomplished in the past 40 years as Data Systems Group, and at the same time are very optimistic about the outlook for the future by joining Passport," said Rob Stucker, chief operating officer of DSG.
