Re "Struggle grows for troubled Delta fish" (Page A1, Jan. 8): This is not a complicated problem. Shipping water south has killed fish in the Delta.
Current fish populations are one third what they were in the 1960s. This problem didn't exist until too much water was shipped south.
Why are the self-serving false arguments of the California Farm Water Coalition, Westlands Water District and the Metropolitan Water District given credence?
These are the historic rapers of California. Remember Owens Valley? There is simply not enough water to irrigate the whole state and keep building in the deserts.
This problem was created by the same people who are now screaming for more water. They only care about the bottom-line profit.
