Re "Cordova Hills is needed" (Letters, Jan. 5): As the former CEO of one of our region's major employers, I witnessed the importance of having an adequate and good variety of housing nearby. When I started at VSP, we were a company of 30 employees and $10 million in annual revenue. When I retired, we had more than 2,000 dedicated employees and annual revenues exceeding $2.8 Billion.
VSP continues to grow, is a global company and is a wonderful treasure for our region. Vision like the Cordova Hills development is vital for this type of success.
The Cordova Hills plan before the county will help solidify the future of the second largest jobs center in our region along the Highway 50 corridor. We need the wonderfully planned community of Cordova Hills to continue to raise the quality of life opportunities for our existing and future residents. The county should move expeditiously to approve the Cordova Hills plan.
