THREE KEYS
• Bench match: After allowing their past two opponents to combine for 100 points off the bench, the Kings need to do a better job of adjusting to the Mavericks' second unit. The Kings also could use an offensive spark if Marcus Thornton, the Kings' third-leading scorer, can return to his sixth-man role tonight.
• Good rotation: The Kings have given up 55 assisted buckets in the past two games. John Salmons suggested that the Kings haven't been rotating as hard on defense, so that's something they must return to doing.
• Which 'Reke?: Tyreke Evans was rusty in his return from an 11-game absence Monday, but coach Keith Smart said the guard's knee responded well to game action. Every step Evans takes toward full strength is a plus for the Kings.
