NFL ON TV

SATURDAY

Ravens at Broncos

• Time: 1:30 p.m.

• TV/radio: Ch. 13, 1320

• Line: Broncos by 9

• Records: Ravens 11-6, Broncos 13-3

• The skinny: Almost all signs point to a comfortable Denver win – as comfy as a win can be played in low-20s frigidity. The Broncos have won 11 games in a row, are coming off a bye, are 13-3 all-time at home in the postseason and neatly handled Baltimore 34-17 a month ago. Oh, and Peyton Manning is Peyton Manning. However, Manning is 0-3 in the playoffs – with one touchdown and seven interceptions – when the kickoff temperature is below 40. Besides, any team on an 11-game win streak is messing with the law of averages and might be at least due a struggle or scare.

Packers at 49ers

• Time: 5 p.m.

• TV/radio: FOX40, 680, 1320

• Line: 49ers by 3

• Records: Packers 12-5, 49ers 11-4-1

• The skinny: Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers is a Northern California guy who grew up a 49ers fan, while 49ers counterpart Colin Kaepernick is a Wisconsin native who grew up a Cheesehead. Weird, huh? But it is another contrast in these two that could shape this game and lead to a Packers road upset. It's Kaepernick's first playoff game, a stage Rodgers all but owns with a 105.1 passer rating in the postseason. The 49ers beat the Packers 30-22 in Week 1, but that was with veteran Alex Smith; this one could come down to Rodgers' experience being the difference.

SUNDAY

Seahawks at Falcons

• Time: 10 a.m.

• TV/radio: FOX40, 1320

• Line: Falcons by 2 1/2

• Records: Seahawks 12-5, Falcons 13-3

• The skinny: Atlanta, despite a No. 1 seed, is still doubted; the Falcons are favored by less than the home-field edge. Part of that could be their 0-3 playoff record under coach Mike Smith and quarterback Matt Ryan, who has been mediocre (71.2 rating) in those three elimination games. Sure, that's a small sample, but it will keep weighing a ton until these guys figure a way to win a playoff game. This is the only weekend game that is not a rematch of a regular-season meeting; it's also these teams' first playoff meeting, lending a further air of unpredictability. But Atlanta, fresh off a bye, is 7-1 at home. And no West Coast team since the 1989 Los Angeles Rams has won two consecutive playoff games in the East.

Texans at Patriots

• Time: 1:30 p.m.

• TV/radio: Ch. 13, 1320

• Line: Patriots by 9 1/2

• Records: Texans 13-4, Patriots 12-4

• The skinny: New England is 13-3 at home in the playoffs, it's rested, and it has an offense that is nearly unstoppable (a league-leading 34.8-point average). Houston found that out in Week 14 in a 42-14 blitzing by the Patriots. It was 28-0 before the Texans got up off the canvas; Tom Brady had 296 passing yards and four touchdowns and was sacked only once. Sunday's rematch is bound to be closer, but look for the Patriots to still cover the huge betting line. Sure, Houston was 6-2 on the road this season, but New England, in winter, with Brady and Bill Belichick staring at you, is a whole different kind of road.
