Re "Wild gun rhetoric undermines serious debate" (Editorials, Jan. 16): The last time I checked, this was still a democratic republic, not an empire or kingdom. It seems our president chooses to act as a king or emperor to circumvent our Congress and our constitutional government by using executive privilege to get anti-gun laws passed without congressional approval.
This is very disturbing to me. What is to prevent President Barack Obama from using executive privilege to force all weapons owners to turn in their weapons?
Will he and the anti-gun crowd use this presidential tool to eventually abolish the Second Amendment in the future? --Harry Kennedy, Sacramento
