Restaurateur Randy Paragary plans to open a new Cafe Bernardo restaurant around midyear in the Pavilions shopping complex along Fair Oaks Boulevard.
Paragary has leased about 4,000 square feet of space formerly occupied by the David Berkley Fine Wines and Specialty Foods store.
The restaurant, which will feature indoor and outdoor seating for about 150, is scheduled to open in June after an extensive remodel.
The Sacramento-based Paragary Restaurant Group currently operates three Cafe Bernardo restaurants in Sacramento at 28th Street and Capitol Avenue; 15th and R streets; and 10th and K streets.
The 10th and K Cafe Bernardo was formerly the Cosmo Cafe, which Paragary converted last year after the Cosmo site failed to draw a sufficient number of cabaret goers.
Paragary oversees another Cafe Bernardo at Third and D streets in Davis.
The Bernardo restaurants feature a casual, European ambience, with menu offerings emphasizing local ingredients.
