A 296-kilowatt solar energy system that will provide long-term power to West Sacramento-based ASC Profiles Inc. has been completed.
The project composed of four elevated carport photovoltaic arrays and a roof-mounted array with a combined 22,133 square feet was done by Rohnert Park-based Stellar Energy. More than 1,000 solar modules were installed.
The system will provide electricity for about 70 percent of the energy needs of ASC, a manufacturer of steel roof, wall and deck building products. Its operations are headquartered at 2110 Enterprise Blvd.
Under terms of the energy project, Manhattan Beach-based Energy Finance Co. will own, operate and maintain the solar system, with ASC purchasing the electricity. ASC expects to save about $1.25 million in energy costs over the next 20 years.
