Re "New policy spares lives of stray cats" (Our Region, Jan. 1): Having worked in cat rescue for over 10 years, it is wonderful to see the shelters, rescue groups and community in Elk Grove working together as a team for the animals' benefit.
However, an omission was made. Citrus Heights is the only community in Sacramento County not allowing spayed/neutered feral animals to be returned to their original neighborhoods. Instead, these animals are euthanized, solely because of their poor luck in being within Citrus Heights boundaries.
I encourage Citrus Heights residents to contact their city council members and persuade them to do the right thing, the humane thing. Allow fixed feral cats to live out their lives in their familiar neighborhoods. The rest of Sacramento County can't be wrong!

• Don't use all capital letters. That's akin to yelling and not appreciated by the audience.
• Don't flag other users' comments just because you don't agree with their point of view. Please only flag comments that violate these guidelines.
