Re "Region needs more options for transit to airport" (Editorials, Jan. 14): The Bee got it right. Non-stop bus service every 15 minutes between downtown Sacramento and Metro Airport would cost no more than $2 million per year, plus about $2 million up front to buy bus coaches.
Sacramento Regional Transit has not seen fit to do this. If RT weren't interested in operating that service, perhaps YoloBus might be.
The real mystery lies in how this region can contemplate spending $1 billion for a rail transit line to the airport when it doesn't even find it worthwhile to run quality bus service to the airport to test and build the market.
