The Bee's Jeff Caraska caught up with former Del Oro boys basketball standout Spencer Butterfield.

Now: The 6-foot-3 junior guard for the 14-3 Aggies has started 11 of 16 games and is averaging 9.3 points and 4.3 rebounds. Among Aggies with at least 10 attempts, he has the second-best three-point shooting percentage (.442). He scored a season-high 18 points on Dec. 31 in an 81-57 road win over Texas State.

Then: He was a first-team All-Metro wide receiver (60 catches for 906 yards and 10 touchdowns) as a senior and second team in basketball (16.1 points per game). He was last season's California Community College Co-Player of the Year for Yuba College.
