Re "Benghazi blame game misses a bigger lesson" (Editorials, Jan. 24): Florida Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen suggested that the State Department abandon climate change initiatives to spend more on diplomatic security. She is right.
Mankind cannot change earth's climate. As a geological engineer for more than a half century, I am one of 31,478 scientists registered in the Global Warming Petition Project, recommending to the government that we oppose spending billions to reduce carbon dioxide.
Earth's history has no evidence that carbon dioxide ever disrupted earth's climate. Earth has cooled and heated many times. The last glaciation 2 million years ago covered the northern hemisphere with ice. Warming is occurring, interrupted by cooling periods. We are emerging from the cooling that took place between 1500 and the 1800s.
Reducing carbon dioxide is a hoax perpetrated by those who benefit financially. The hoax again was exposed by the British National Weather Service, which recently contended the sun's sunspot numbers are running at less than half that seen during peaks in the 20th Century, which threatens possible cold summers and bitter winters. Sound familiar?
