Re "Feinstein pushes for limits on assault-style weapons" (Capitol & California, Jan. 25): With the recent outbreak of senseless killings by the mentally ill, the criminal element and gangbangers comes the cry for more gun control.
Apparently our political leaders and our president are listening. All would stomp over our constitutional rights by passing more laws.
Truth is, gun control will not stop these people. Just look at England and the massive gun control laws they have. How's that working out?
I contend that people should concentrate on the real problems and quit picking on the vast majority of law-abiding citizens. I spent 20-yrs in the U.S. Marine Corps including two years in 'Nam and never once shot at anyone unless I had to. That was often enough.
Now I just shoot at paper targets, just like most of the people who legally own guns. So, quit picking on the wrong group of gun owners and concentrate on the facts.
