A fire that heavily damaged three vehicles at a car dealership in Arden Arcade was caused by someone stealing gasoline, according to fire officials.
Fire crews were summoned shortly after 4 a.m. Thursday to Maita Nissan at 2820 Auburn Blvd., where three vehicles were burning. A fourth vehicle suffered radiant heat damage.
Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District crews extinguished the fire and prevented its spread to neighboring Skip's Music store.
Arson investigators determined that an explosion occurred while gasoline was being stolen from the vehicles.
Anyone with information regarding the fire is asked to call the Metro Fire Arson Tip Line at (916) 859-3775.
