Joe Eberhard scored 15 points, Mikh McKinney had 13, and the Sacramento State men's basketball team came alive after halftime to beat visiting North Dakota 67-58 Thursday night.
John Dickson had 11 points and 12 rebounds for the Hornets (9-8, 4-5 Big Sky Conference), and Cody Demps (Pleasant Grove High School) chipped in with 10 points off the bench.
Troy Huff led North Dakota (7-11, 4-5) with 24 points and nine rebounds, and Aaron Anderson scored 14 points. Each made three three-pointers, but North Dakota was outrebounded 39-22 and saw its three-game winning streak snapped.
The Hornets opened the second half on a 12-2 run to go up 42-32.
Cal State Fullerton 95, UC Davis 88 – D.J. Seeley scored 32 points and Kwame Vaughn 20 for the visiting Titans.
Seeley and Vaughn also had six assists apiece and combined for seven steals as the Titans (11-8, 4-3 Big West Conference) snapped a two-game losing streak.
UCD (7-11, 3-4) got 22 points apiece from J.T. Adenrele (Oakmont) and Corey Hawkins, 18 from Ryan Sypkens (Franklin) and 11 from Josh Ritchart (Forest Lake Christian).
The Aggies led by eight points early in the second half.
Women
Sac State 79, North Dakota 77 in Grand Forks, N.D. – The Hornets (10-7, 5-3 Big Sky) knocked down 5 of 7 free-throw attempts in the final 75 seconds and escaped with a victory over North Dakota (7-11, 2-7), Sac State reported on its website. Sac State led by 11 points in the second half but needed to convert at the free-throw line down stretch to stave off a North Dakota rally.
UC Davis 88, Cal State Fullerton 44 in Fullerton – Aniya Baker and Alyson Doherty scored 16 points each as the Aggies (7-10, 2-4 Big West) shot 60 percent from the field and a season-high 59 percent from three-point range against the Titans (7-11, 3-3), according to UCD's athletics website.
