UC Davis reached an all-time high for applications with nearly 70,000 students applying for the fall 2013 term, campus officials announced today.
More than 69,600 students applied for enrollment, up from the roughly 62,500 who applied last fall.
Officials says the numbers of applicants - more than 11 percent higher than last fall - include strong showings among international students and from historically underserved groups.
International applications for freshman status increased by more than 65 percent from the previous year, the highest percentage increase of the nine University of California campuses, the university said.
UC Davis Chancellor Linda P.B. Katehi said the record number of applicants "demonstrates UC Davis' reputation as a global destination and world-class university."
